Qoya Inspired Movement

Qoya Inspired Movement is a somatic embodiment practice using music and guided movement to drop into and explore parts, emotions, sensations and stories held in the body. A session is typically between 60 to 90 minutes, held in a closed group within a retreat setting (get in touch for details of upcoming events or to check availability).

Qoya is a gentle but powerful blend of yoga inspired dance and relaxation, inviting you to drop out of your busy mind and into the parts within your body. It’s based on the idea that “through movement we remember”. There are no corrections, no rules, no way you can get it wrong. Qoya is about authentic attuning to how it feels inside, letting go (as much as we are able) to how it looks on the outside. Much of the session can be done with closed eyes to allow for more presence and gentleness, more attunement to your own system, less comparison and judgment.

We hold the Qoya space in awareness that trauma-stories are often held in the body, and for this reason we invite gentleness and care, with a qualified and trauma-aware professional therapist as your guide.

It's helped me to process different aspects of my life at times when I've needed to, in a safe ,secure and nurturing environment.
